7. Tbf – To be fair

This is used when you want to acknowledge another perspective before starting your own view. For instance, “Tbf, the movie had some good scenes, but the plot was full of holes.” It shows you’re trying to be balanced in your judgment.

8. Ikr – I know, right?

This abbreviation is a quick way to express emphatic agreement with something. For example, “I just found out my boss approved my vacation request. Ikr!” Your friend will understand you’re excited about the news.

10. Brb – Be right back

This is a classic instant message abbreviation used when you need to step away from your device for a few minutes. For instance, “Brb, the dog needs to go out.” Your friend will know you intend to return to the conversation shortly.

Knowing these valuable WhatsApp slang terms and lingos will permit you to convey casually and compactly, similar to an expert. You’ll drop “ikr’s” and “tbf’s” in a matter of moments. Remember, recollect, for formal messages, staying away from slang and abbreviations is ideal.

Tips for Mastering WhatsApp Lingo and Slang

To become fluent in WhatsApp slang, you want to begin using it in your own talks. The following are a couple of tips to assist you with mastering WhatsApp dialect:

  • Study normal acronyms and abbreviations. Learn things like “LOL” (laugh out loud), “TBH” (to be honest), “IMO” (in my opinion) and “FOMO” (fear of missing out). Allude to a list of well-known WhatsApp lingo forms to look into some more.
  • Pick up on emoji meanings. Emojis are massively well-known on WhatsApp and are utilized to convey tone or as shorthand responses. Know that a smiley face implies happiness, while a winky face is utilized jokingly or flirtatiously.
  • Learn teen slang and catchphrases. Much of WhatsApp slang originates from teen culture. Phrases like “bae” (an acronym for “before anyone else”), “squad” (your close group of friends), “Netflix and chill” (hang out and hook up), and “YOLO” (“you only live once”) are popular on WhatsApp.
  • Observe how your WhatsApp friends use slang. Pay attention to the kinds of shorthand, acronyms, emojis, and catchphrases that people in your chats use frequently. Take cues from them and start experimenting with similar slang in your own messages.
  • Try not to overdo it. While using some WhatsApp slang can make you sound easy and draw in, overusing high schooler slang when you’re not a young person can appear to be inauthentic or like you’re making a strong attempt. Use slang moderately and when appropriate for your conversation and relationship.

With regular WhatsApp use, all this slang will become second nature in no time. You’ll be chatting with the best of ‘em and decoding lingo like a pro! LOL. Follow Guest Column for more!

Getting Started With Mountain Boarding

Gather Your Gear

The basics you’ll want to get rolling are a mountain board, shielding tools like a helmet, elbow and knee pads, and relaxed clothes. Mountain boards come in exclusive sizes based on your height and weight. Protective gear will help prevent injury as you learn.

Find an Open Space to Practice

Look for a large open space without traffic and obstacles like empty parking lots, grassy fields, bike paths or skate parks. Start on flat, even ground without inclines until you get the hang of balancing and controlling your speed.

Safety First

Usually wear your protective tools, especially when you’re first getting to know. It is easy to capture an edge or lose your balance, so safety tools can save you serious damage. Test your equipment earlier than every use for any damage or wear and tear.

Master the Basics

The key to mountain boarding is balancing on the board. Practice rolling, stopping safely, and changing directions. Bend your knees and keep your weight forward on the front of the board. Push off gently with one foot at a time, coast, then drag the sole of your back foot on the ground to brake. Once you’re balancing, practice turning by shifting your weight and leaning into the turn.

Start on flat ground, wear protective gear, and get a feel for balancing, pushing, braking and turning. With regular practice, you’ll get comfortable and confident enough to move on to small inclines and ramps. The thrill of speeding down a hillside will make the effort worth it! Stay safe out there and enjoy this exciting sport.

Advanced Mountain Boarding Tricks and Techniques

Once you’ve mastered the basics of mountain boarding, you’ll be ready to take on some more advanced techniques. These include jumps, grinding rails, and butters. With practice, you can combine multiple tricks into a smooth run down the hill.

Jumps

To get airborne, approach the jump with speed, bend your knees, and push off the lip of the jump. Extend your body and keep the board straight beneath you. Spot your landing as you sail through the air. Bend your knee as you land to absorb the solid impact. Start with basic and small jumps and work your way up.

Rails

Grinding rails requires sliding the trucks of your board across a metal rail. Build up speed as you approach the rail, then turn 90 degrees so the rail is between your bindings. Bend your knees and lean into the rail to slide across. Shift your weight and bend the rail to control your speed and angle. Exit by turning 90 degrees off the end of the rail.

Butters

Butters are advanced flatland tricks where you manipulate the board in creative ways while sliding. To butter, gain momentum, shift your weight onto one edge of the board, then twist and slide the board in a smooth motion. Basic butters include nose rolls (rotating the tip of the board), tail rolls (rotating the tail of the board), and board slides (sliding the board out to one side). Combine multiple butters for an advanced trick run.

With practice, you may be sliding rails, catching air, and busting butters like a pro. Constantly put on proper protection equipment, begin with the basics, and build up slowly as your competencies enhance. The key is staying balanced, keeping your speed up, and committing to the trick. Soon, the entire mountain will be your playground. Follow Guest Column for more!

The sequel to the first Aquaman delivers another splashy, visually engaging adventure with a few rough spots that might make this a harder slog for families. But director James Wan does effectively expand his world, and the film has enough of its own whimsy to keep it fresh.

Momoa brings his alpha-cool, jerkish charm to Arthur again, but this time with a kid, and the odd-couple bickering works surprisingly well.

The Story

Despite a few flashes of humor, a lackluster story and the lack of chemistry between Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom isn’t a terrible film. In fact, it’s better than most of the other DCEU movies we’ve seen lately. It just suffers from the same major problem that its predecessor did: a lack of distinct identity.

The film starts off with a weird, clumsy, and self-aware moment in which Arthur Curry (Momoa) explains that no one thinks he’s dorky for loving being a superhero. It’s a trite and unfunny joke that sets the tone for the rest of the film, which feels like a jumbled medley of imitations from different kinds of films.

There’s a bit of an eco fable, where Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) is trying to accelerate global warming by burning Atlantean super fuel; a half-baked revenge saga; and a few other miscellaneous subplots. But mostly it’s just a straight-up action movie, filled with a lot of kaiju mayhem and a lot of exposition about a rare metal called orichalcum that is apparently the ultimate power source for all of mankind. It gets a little less confusing when the film focuses on Arthur and King Orn’s bickering, which gives the movie its strongest moments. It almost feels like a buddy comedy at times, with Momoa and Wilson delivering some of the more straight-up funny dialogue in the entire film.

The Cast

The cast in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is solid overall. Jason Momoa is the highlight as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, he makes the movie worth watching. He’s funny, engaging and a good hero, even though the film is pretty brainless. He’s joined by Patrick Wilson as his half-brother Orm, who has a Van Heflin quality and wants to destroy everything the hero touches. The movie also stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen as the aforementioned Black Manta, a cardboard cutout angry villain who has a strange zeal to “thank god for global warming.”

Amber Heard is back as Mera, Arthur’s wife and mute princess of the underwater kingdom of Xebel, but she doesn’t have nearly as much to do this time around. It’s been reported that the role was reworked to minimize Heard’s involvement after her defamation lawsuit with Johnny Depp, but she does still play a key part in the story.

Other notables include Game of Thrones’ Pilou Asbaek and Indya Moore, as well as Randall Park and Judy Blackett in smaller roles. Jani Zhao plays Stingray, a character that appears to be brand new for this film and she does a solid job in her debut. The movie also features cameos from Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, but it ignores the larger DC universe altogether and just focuses on Arthur.

The Visuals

The big lug who talks to fish is back in a chintzy blast of machismo in this sequel to the highest-grossing DCEU film to date. Returning director James Wan, star Jason Momoa and an almost identical cast take on Black Manta, the deposed usurper bent on accelerating global warming by burning Atlantean superfuel. The movie, however, feels like a letdown in the wake of the DCEU’s other recent sequels and reboots (not to mention all of the behind-the-scenes drama, divorce and reshoots).

Wan and his team once again craft a dazzlingly colorful world, but it’s the characters that are left wanting. The movie’s Cain and Abel plot, with Arthur jibing his brother Orm like two battling Stepp Brothers, is a lot of fun — but it’s hampered by overbearing earnestness.

Kids will enjoy it for its crude humor and bright visuals, but adults may find the film too self-consciously hokey and overly reliant on cutaways of Momoa shouting profanity to keep it moving forward. Still, it’s far better than many of the other DCEU films have been and it gives hope to the possibility that the studio hasn’t completely lost its touch. But the franchise might be better off with a hard reboot than another mediocre outing.

The Bottom Line

While the story may have lost its way a bit in this sequel, the film still manages to work thanks to the presence of Jason Momoa as Arthur. The character is a fun, goofy hero and that alone helps to carry this movie through the rough patches.

The action scenes are fast-paced and exciting, and the visuals always look amazing. James Wan is a master at what he does and the underwater world that he has created in this film is nothing short of spectacular.

There’s also a lot of humor and “yahoo” moments in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and this is probably one of the reasons that it will appeal to a wider audience than the first movie. Momoa and Wilson are a great combination and they have some terrific chemistry together.

The script, however, lacks inspiration. It focuses on rearranging the elements that people liked about the original instead of deepening them. The result is a chintzy blast of machismo that is definitely better than some of the other films in this franchise but not enough to save it from a quick DCEU reboot.

A new generation of parents will embrace this tuneful reimagining of Tina Fey’s early 2000s hit. Renee Rapp’s pouting queen of capricious blonde cruelty, Regina George, tames some of the film’s original harshness.

Homeschooled Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) lands in high school and finds herself drawn to the Plastics clique. The movie’s sharp social critique of school-based cliques is a smart, funny take on the modern world.

The Story

From the comedic mind of Tina Fey (and co-writer/producer Lorne Michaels) comes a lively musical spin on the 2004 film that updated and mythologized high school gossip culture for a new generation. Director Samantha Jayne and screenwriter Arturo Perez Jr. pay proper deference to the original movie, but they also aim to make their version stand on its own. The result is a sly, gleeful take on teenage cruelty with a surprisingly moral twist.

Also Read > Aaron Eckhart Filmography

The Mean Girls movie story follows sheltered naif Cady Heron (played by 30 Rock’s Angourie Rice) as she enters the high school social hierarchy led by the gang of shallow blonde “plastics,” ruled by Regina George (Renee Rapp). Though the scheming queen bee attempts to welcome her into the group, Cady’s heart lies with the boy she used to have a crush on, Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney). The Plastics aren’t going to let that go unchallenged.

As the plot progresses, it becomes clear that petty revenge is not enough for Cady. She wants to make Regina and her gang see that their contempt for one another is what really makes them ugly.

Mean Girls features a host of talented performers, including Bebe Wood as the insecure Gretchen and Avantika as the vapid Karen. And although Lindsay Lohan’s teen-star status is a liability for this solarmovie film, she’s got plenty of talent and humor to make the role her own. The movie does lose some steam in its final act as it begins to veer into the territory of traditional teen movies complete with a preachy, sentimental and somewhat limp moral ending.

The Cast

When the original Mean Girls premiered in 2004, it shook the teen movie world and left behind a legacy of high-school-themed memes. Its shrewd social critique, broad styles of humor, and the fact that it didn’t take itself too seriously were what made it memorable, and still are today.

This new version of the film, which has already debuted on Broadway, brings all the same elements together in one package. Tina Fey writes the script and produces alongside Lorne Michaels, and 30 Rock composer Jeff Richmond provides the music.

The cast is solid, with Auli’i Cravalho as Janis, a pierced art punk whose self-described anthropology of high school cliques is actually quite astute; she creates an authentically gritty everygirl who has a knack for turning the tables on Regina and her fellow Plastics. Rachel McAdams still has the same brittle charm as the queen B, and her sidekicks Karen Smith (Lacey Chabert) and Gretchen Wieners (Amanda Seyfried) are likewise skilled manipulators.

New to the cast is Jacquel Spivey as Damian, the florid bohemian outlier who’s mocked as being “too gay to function.” Despite having a skewed sense of what constitutes high-fashion, she delivers her lines with a knowing verve that smashes any hint of condescension.

The Music

For the most part, the musical aspect of this Mean Girls flop was disappointing and forgettable. There were some standout performances from Renee Rap, BB Wood, and Aly Calo but overall the songs in this movie are forgettable and drab. The choreography was also underwhelming and the recreations of some iconic scenes were shoddy and uninspired. This new version of Mean Girls is a cash-grab remake that fails to live up to the original film and Broadway show.

Tina Fey’s 2004 teen comedy is a cult classic for a reason: it resonated with a generation of snarky, socially conscious kids who grew up in a world where sarcasm was the only form of civil discourse. But it is a bit of a shame that this movie was so repackaged into a TikTok-themed musical (with some B-tier jokes from Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next) that it loses its edge.

Fey’s screenplay tries to tame the brutality of the Plastics in line with a more progressive sensibility (for example, Regina’s self-inflicted Burn Book insult is now “ugly cow” instead of “slut”). However, that reworking robs Mean Girls of some of its bite and gives it a distinctly milder flavor. As a result, this remake feels like it was made by people who didn’t understand the original movie or the zeitgeist it captured.

The Script

The original Mean Girls is a teen classic with enough iconic quotable lines to last a lifetime. But when it comes to adapting the film for TikTok-loving Gen Z, a lot of the snark isn’t there anymore. The new Mean Girls isn’t as biting, especially when it comes to its rewrite of the Burn Book that deems Regina George “a fugly slut” and not just “a bitch.”

While this may be understandable given how much teenage culture has changed in the years since the first film was released (for the better), it makes the movie feel less like a clever social commentary than a rote teen comedy with a few more pop songs. The cast is fine, but they can’t make up for a script that seems to want to be both kid-friendly and adult.

This isn’t to say that Mean Girls 2024 isn’t a good movie. It’s just not as fun. Tina Fey is a great actress, and her performance as Cady Heron is fine. But it’s Renee Rapp’s take on Queen Bee Regina that truly steals the show. Rapp’s Regina isn’t just a persnickety devil in a Santa miniskirt; she’s an apex predator ready to eat the girls at North Shore High for breakfast. Her sexy, breathy voice adds to her character’s scheming and arrogance. Follow Guest Column for more!

Managing multiple payment gateways in a single WooCommerce store can be a pain. If you have a multi-vendor or marketplace store, it gets even more complicated. PayPal offers a user-friendly checkout experience that simplifies the shopping process. However, it does come with a cost in the form of transaction fees.

How to do it

The final step in getting your WooCommerce store ready is to add a payment method. This may not be as exciting as adding product photos or designing your site, but it’s essential for letting people purchase from you.

One popular option is PayPal, which has over 400 million users worldwide and offers a secure way to send and receive money online. If you choose to use PayPal login in your WooCommerce store, this article will walk you through connecting and setting up the plugin so that customers can pay with their preferred account.

To connect your PayPal account, log into the admin dashboard and navigate to Settings > Plugins. Click the Installed Plugins tab, find WooCommerce Multiple PayPal Accounts Plugin and click Activate. Enter the information for your primary PayPal account rule in the fields of PayPal Sandbox, Account Nickname, PayPal Email, Site Owner Commissions %, and ItemLabel. Click Save Changes to disable the sandbox and go live.

Plugins

Adding payment plans to your store can help improve average order value and customer satisfaction. With a payment plan, customers can pay for an item in installments instead of paying upfront.

This plugin allows you to add multiple PayPal accounts and apply different rates to each account based on rules you create. It’s perfect for multi-vendor and marketplace stores such as WC Vendors or Dokan.

The plugin also sends email renewal notifications, so your customers are always aware when payments are due. And if you need to change the rate or terms of an account, you can do that without affecting any existing orders.

You can test this plugin on your sandbox site before enabling it on your live store. Make sure to backup your site before installing it, so you don’t lose any data. To create a backup, go to the WordPress dashboard and click Manage Apps & Servers. Then select your hosted application, name it, and select a server size and location.

Settings

If you want to give your customers more options for online payments, then consider using a plugin like WooCommerce PayPal Adaptive Payments Pro. This will let you split payments among multiple PayPal accounts quickly and easily.

With this plugin, you can enable your customers to use their existing PayPal balances, PayPal Credit, debit cards, or rewards balances. It also supports digital wallets, which have become increasingly popular in recent years.

With PayPal, you can offer a safe and secure checkout experience for your customers. It also allows you to save customer data and prevent fraud, which is why it’s used by millions of websites worldwide. However, there are a few things to keep in mind when using the payment gateway.

Troubleshooting

WooCommerce has a great PayPal integration that makes it easy to manage multiple payment methods from one central location. The integration also provides a secure checkout experience for customers.

If you need more powerful features, there’s always PayPal Pro – an advanced option that lets you process cards on-site for a more streamlined checkout experience (and gives you access to Amazon’s highly regarded fraud protection service). It does cost slightly more than standard, with a $30 monthly fee plus higher transaction costs.

Note that if you’re switching from PayPal Checkout to PayPal Payments, any subscriptions created with the old gateway will not have their status changed on the corresponding Billing Agreement in the PayPal Vault. This is because they are treated differently, as explained in this guide. For this reason, it is recommended to use another gateway for any subscription-based transactions. Otherwise, they will fail during the switch to a new gateway. If this is a major issue, there are workarounds available.

Affordable shopping can be expensive but if you know how to shop wisely it doesn’t have to be. Always shop with a list of the gaps in your wardrobe you’re trying to fill (make sure they are genuine needs and not frivolous wants). Also, shop the grocery stores’ sales and compare prices.

1. Shop Online

Affordable shopping is a convenient way to shop 24 hours a day without having to leave the comfort of your home or office. It also provides a wide selection of products and services, with the ability to compare prices and product specifications at a glance.

In addition, a number of e-sellers offer lucrative discounts and deals on their products through seasonal sales, daily specials, buy now PayPal login offers later catalogs, and discount coupons. These offers, together with reduced overhead costs, help make online shopping affordable for many consumers.

However, it is important to exercise caution when shopping online because it is easy to spend more than you intend to. By identifying reliable e-sellers, employing comparison tools, taking advantage of discounts and coupons, limiting your purchasing to necessities, and remaining vigilant to online scams, you can minimize your expenses when shopping online.

2. Use Coupons

The best way to save money on a variety of products is to use coupons. A dollar or two here and there might not seem like much, but when you add those savings up over time, you can see a big difference.

Plus, you can try new products or brands that you might not have considered before using a coupon. However, it is essential to use coupons responsibly and make wise choices when shopping with them. If you are tempted to purchase items that you don’t need just because they are discounted, then you might be losing out on saving money in the long run. This is why it’s a good idea to keep track of your savings in a budgeting journal or a smartphone app.

3. Buy in Bulk

Many people think that buying in bulk is a scam, but the truth is it can be a great way to save money. It just requires careful planning and a willingness to change some shopping habits.

When purchasing items in bulk, the most important factor is finding the lowest price per unit. This can be done by researching prices online and at various stores before making a purchase. It is also important to determine how much of each item you need, such as a certain amount of shampoo or a specific number of toothpaste tubes.

In addition to finding the best deals, it is also necessary to have a designated place for affordable shopping. This could be a garage, a storage shed or even a closet.

While hearing happens automatically, listening is a skill that takes practice. But when you listen well, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the world and form closer connections with others. So take the time to stop, focus your mind, and really listen. Let’s read in detail about the difference between hearing and listening.

The Physical Process of Hearing

Hearing is the physical process of perceiving sound. It’s one of your five senses, and it involves some complex parts of your ear and brain working together.

Your ear acts as a receiver for sound waves. The waves travel into your ear canal and cause your eardrum to vibrate. Those vibrations are transmitted to three tiny bones in your middle ear actually called the malleus, incus, and stapes. They amplify the vibrations and send them to your inner ear.

In your inner ear, the vibrations cause fluid in the cochlea to move, stimulating hair cells. The hair cells convert the mechanical energy of the sound waves into electrical signals that your auditory nerve carries to your brain. Your brain then interprets those signals as the sounds you perceive.

Hearing allows you to detect a wide range of sounds, from high-pitched whistles to low rumbles. But hearing is an involuntary physical process. Listening, on the other hand, requires conscious effort and focus. You have to pay attention to the sounds around you, process them, and understand them.

The Mental Process of Listening

To really understand what someone is saying, you need to do more than just hear the words – you have to actively listen. Listening is a mental process that requires focus and concentration.

When you listen, you pay close attention to the speaker by maintaining eye contact, keeping an open mind, and avoiding distractions. You make an effort to understand their message and perspective.

Listening is a skill that takes conscious effort to develop but is essential for effective communication. By focusing your mind and avoiding distractions, you can gain a deeper understanding of what others are really saying and strengthen your relationships. The rewards of being a good listener are well worth the work.

Hearing Vs Listening

Hearing

  1. Hearing is an involuntary physical process.
  2. When you hear something, your ears detect sounds and transmit signals to your brain.
  3. Hearing can happen passively without much focus.
  4. For hearing, you can hear background noises or someone talking while your attention is elsewhere.
  5. Hearing the sounds of speech does not necessarily lead to understanding.

Listening

  1. Listening requires conscious effort and attention.
  2. Listening involves not just hearing the sounds but interpreting and understanding them.
  3. Listening demands focus and concentration.
  4. Listening requires you to stop what you’re doing, ignore distractions, and devote your mental energy to understanding what is being said.
  5. When you listen, your goal is to understand the meaning and significance of what is being communicated.

In summary, the difference between hearing and listening is, that hearing is a passive physical act while listening is an active mental process that requires focus, attention, and concentration. Listening leads to learning, meaningful connection, and productive communication. Hearing alone does not provide those benefits. So listen up! Your relationships and knowledge depend on it.
